I woke naturally this morning, and at a reasonable time, 8:50! It was actually ten minutes before the alarm went off. Today is moving day, which is always a bit messy! I did my bag sorting last night, so there’s not much to be done this morning.

Funny thing happened before I left my room though. I thought I’d really done it this time! Ha ha! Last night, for other reason than curiosity… I noticed the locks on the door! I usually lock the door when I get, no change there… then I noticed the chain lock, which I hadn’t seen before. I thought to myself, really, is there a need for that much security? So, obviously, I started fiddling with it, then put the chain lock on. Ah nice….. until I tried getting out this morning. I couldn’t unlock the damned thing! I got a right little mental panic on… jumping forward in my imagination how this phone call would go down in reception.. ha ha! As panic had already set in, I stepped back for a minute, and started again! After about 5 minutes, which seemed like half an hour, the penny dropped, you have to push the tiny back plate backwards, with your little finger, for the chain end to fit into the gap! Phewww. I had many scenarios passing through my mind… ha ha! Yes, I know what you’re thinking…ha ha

Then calmly, I went off to the rooftop for breakfast. Today I went for the granola and fruit starter, closely followed by an omelette, with two doorstops of well done toast. It was all very good. Then I took a second cappuccino with a couple of the mini croissants out to the open air terrace to enjoy. I like the calmness in there after the noisy restaurant.

I’m a bit concerned about my dodgy ear today, it feels fluffy in my head, which usually isn’t a good thing. I’ve had so much bother with it since December, which caused me a lot of concerns about the air pressure changes over so many flights. So far, it’s been great, and I’ve had no issues. Yesterday, I felt a real change in my hearing in that ear, now the I’ve got the strange bubbling type feeling! I’ve got 2 flights overnight, so my fingers are crossed. Although, I have been meticulous in using the air pressure ear plugs on the flights. I’m sure they help, although I have zero hearing when they are in!

I checked out of my room at about 11:45. It’s such a messy day when you are leaving! Not enough time to actually do anything, but too much time to do nothing! I’ve got 6 hours to pass. The best option is to go around the pool for a few hours, then reconsider my options!

Whilst laying here a few things crossed my mind:
Favourite event in Bali?
The swing in Ubud
Least favourite?
Blacking out at the big waterfall, and of course the eye issue!
Preference - Ubud or Seminyak?
Ubud
Why?
Ubud, plenty of cultural influence, more history to see and experience.
Seminyak, beautiful, but no Balinese cultural influence, All sunbathing, shopping, eating and drinking. That’s great if that’s your thing, just not mine.
Would I come back?
No, unless for a layover for flight convenience

I’ve been around the pool for a couple of hours, but am now bored! I decided to go to the restaurant that’s attached to the hotel for some lunch. I was gutted! I really got my mind on having a pizza. It’s hard to know what you fancy eating when you’re not particularly hungry! but sadly they didn’t have any left. Gutted. I ended up with just an iced coffee. There was nothing else I fancied to eat! It’ll pass half an hour I suppose. I’ll have this, then get properly dressed for leaving, then take a walk for food!

So I managed to get showered and changed in the hotel spa! I walked up the road to find pizza. Although I don’t feel hungry, I know that I do need to eat something. I came to a sports bar, and they sell pizza! There are about 20 TV’s all around the room., shower no many varieties of different sports from around the world. Yet, it’s all totally foreign to me… ha ha

I’ve been back at the hotel, watching a bit of TV on my iPad, but basically just watching the clock! I can’t lay out be the pool as the skies have opened again. It’s been such a long waste of a day. At this point, and I’m sure we’re all just be same…. You just want to get going!!!

I’m on the way to the airport, the rain is now about a foot deep on the road… can’t any rain. The driver did day, this is more than normal rain for this time of year. I think it’s all come a bit earlier than usual. Ooohhh… the thunder and lightening is going crazy, as is the rain. It’s absolutely hurling it down!

I made it to the airport, through security, through immigration and on to my gate in a record time of 1 hour!!! WOW, I didn’t expect that. Do I am a bit early, but after previous hassles, I wanted to be earlier, rather than late!!!

I bought myself junk at duty free, snickers and Pringles…. What can I say! No excuses!! The only downside is that because I am flying domestic, (not sure what that means!) I have to collect t my case myself, then go through the whole rigmarole again! As I did coming. The bonus this time, is that I know!!! Knowledge is power!!!

So I’m at the gate, dinking my coffee, eating crap… and all that in good time… I’m happy as Larry!

Australia here I come!

Bye-Bye Bali!
Hi Lesley.....for some reason couldn't answer your last few blogs....but the boxes have popped up today. Safe trip to Aus. I wonder if you have got 'swimmers ear' from being in the pool????? Colin used to suffer and everytime he did any swimming we usually had to find a pharmacy and get some stuff that dried it all out. Just a thought. Seems like global warming and the wet is catching up with everyone....hope Aus has some pleasant sunshine for you. Keep blogging...and I keep reading! Take care.
