Our first full day in Wales.

Cardiff, the capital of Wales with nearly 360,000 population, was a clean modern city with a university and wide pedestrian streets.
Between the Cardiff Central Rail station and the Queen Premier Inn there were nice indoor malls and shopping streets.
We visited the central market much like the central market in Budapest and other European cities. We sampled the Caerphilly cheese. This, " crumbly yet flavorful cheese that miners ate to replenish salt lost through perspiration in the coal pits - provides a savory Welsh response to the ubiquitous English cheddar."
There is a two story carousel at the intersection of two of the pedestrian streets; a large stadium and the castle mention in the legends of King Arthur; items giving the city it's unique character. The castle dates to fourth century Roman origins. A 2000 year history of the city and castle is one of the exhibits in the castle visitor's center.
To get to Tenby we booked the 1256 train to Carmarthen with a transfer on to Tenby. About 1220 we get notification

Our first meal in Wales. Pizza and salad that our train to Carmarthen was cancelled. Jo talked with rail station employees who routed us on a 1244 train to Swansea and transfer to the single car, Transport for Wales, train to Tenby.
Arriving about 1540 we walked five minutes to the Glenthorne Guest House. We all checked in and then walked into Tenby on the cliff above the ocean and beach to find a pub for dinner.
Our next task was to call and confirm the taxi pickup for the morning for our trip to Skomer Island to see puffins.
