off on another one of our adventures with Princess cruises. We boarded today at around lunch time and headed straight on up to our cabin. Just prior to the trip, princess contacted us all to offer us an upgrade to a full suite which we took because, even with our elite cards, the perks are worth it. The suite we are in is a family suite but it is really two large bedrooms and a shared living/lounge area and a massive balcony. The folks have already gone to bed for the night but it has been a busy day!
after boarding we checked out crooners and saw the lovely Maria from our last cruise. You know it is going to be a great trip when the bartenders are running over to hug you! Dinner was at the specialist steak resturant tonight (a suite perk) it was really good as usual and they took very good care of me with my allergies.
once food was done we all sat in the living area and watched the mighty Liverpool beat Newcastle. Much screaming and yelling and heart clutching was done during the game lol. Princess accidently delivered us two fruit baskets with, amongst other things, strawberries in...our room steward also accidently bought nuts in with the complimentary champagne...it seems by way of an apology, they have taken to delivering a giant fruit basket with no strawberries, on the hour every hour. We currenly have four huge baskets....O=O i had to beg "no more!" when the last one arrived. I tend to stick to grapes now and we have half a ton at the moment which should keep us going.
we are now setting sail for bruge. The seas out of southampton were, thankfully, calm and Barbara seems very well. She didn't eat any of her dinner but i put that down to the two plates of chocolate coated strawberries which she ate before the meal. :=D she had to eat them obviously, so that they posed no threat to me!
The folks retired after the football but Dave and i retured to crooners. The piano man is awesome! it makes such a nice change to have decent piano man in the crooners bar. He sang proper crooners songs and played very well too. Anyway, tomorrow is Bruge bedtime for me now as we lose an hour tonight.
