The plane landed half an hour late, at 5:30am, and I had a very quick trip through Customs as it was empty at that time of the morning.
I had a pickup from the airport at 6am and early check in to the Mercure London Bloomsbury, Russell Square.
My cousin Jo caught the train into the city and met me at the hotel.
We walked down to the Thames and caught a ferry from Embankment to Greenwich. Here we saw the Cutty Sark sailing ship and had lunch in a pub called the Spanish Galleon.
After this, we walked through Greenwich Park, up the hill to Greenwich Observatory, to see the terrific views of London.
By this point, I was so jet lagged that I was seeing double so we headed back to the hotel where I fell into bed around 5pm.
