The plane landed half an hour late, at 5:30am, and I had a very quick trip through Customs as it was empty at that time of the morning. I had a pickup from the airport at 6am and early check in to the Mercure London Bloomsbury, Russell Square. My cousin Jo caught the train into the city and met me at the hotel.
