Location for our first lunch in Paris. Great place for people watching!
We’re off to France for a month arriving May 11th on an overnight Air Canada flight to Paris. Our plan is to spend 1 week in Paris then begin a 2 week self driving tour of the West, Central and Southern part of the country and capping the trip off with a 1 week stay at a Villa in AIX En Provence. We are meeting up at the Villa with 4 other couples who are long term friends. This group has held a reunion every two years since retirement at various locations and it’s the first time we’ve congregated outside of Canada. Everyone is looking forward to the enjoyable experiences Provence provides and it will be great to have the gang together again.

Our apartment rental is very central and close to numerous attractions. The owner, Alix, is a professional photographer and she has visited Niagara on the Lake in 2017. As with most, the accomodation is small but considering the amount of time we will spend there, it is okay. With the ”jet lag” of the overnight flight, our first day was confined to a “hop on hop off’ bus tour which we have found to be a very

productive way to highlight the city and get a good overview of the various areas. We did manage to savour a late lunch at French Cafe close to our apartment. It was an early evening, however, we did manage to have a light dinner which included fresh Cancale oysters from the West coast which were, I can honestly say, as good as the Beausoleil’s from Caraquet, New Brunswick!!

Debra has planned in efficient detail a very busy week for us in Paris. She should have been a travel planner! We will include a few highlights in the next blog but so far, Paris is an impressive city, although the crowds are always a distraction in most major metropolis in the world.

France
Deb and Dana, hope you enjoy your trip to France, one of our favourite places and stay safe. We were there last September spending nine days at an apartment on the Med. in Menton. A lovely town just east of Monaco on border with Italy. Easy to travel along the Med by train and very reasonable. Enjoy!
