Our overnight stay in Dubai is over, so it is, "Goodbye Dubai," until another time.

The flight to our destination, Manchester Airport, was uneventful, just as we like it. To pass the time it was indulge in movie viewing ("Stratton", "24 Hours to Live" and "American Made") and listening to a little music (Led Zeppelin, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry - none which were/are conducive to sleep).

It took an hour to pass through Border Control and baggage collection before being met by Rob and Mary (Jane's cousin). Approximately an hour later we arrived in the small township/village of "Caldy", closer to Liverpool than to Manchester. We thank them very much for their generosity in picking us up and for the subsequent accommodation too.

Surprisingly, according to Mary and Rob, we were greeted by clear skies and a comfortable 20 degrees C, as it had been "dreadful" in the days prior to our arrival.

Taking the fine weather with you is a great choice. It's amazing the things that arrive with us and we didn't even know we packed them.. And no extra luggage fee. :) Staying overnight in Dubai is really good on the long haul trips. Have fun as your personal new year unfolds. :) :)
