Taking off

This is my last blog post before taking off this evening for Texas, via Hawaii. During these last few days my main occupation (and preoccupation) has been packing and re-packing and catching up with Melbourne friends. (Pictured below are John and Joan and, finally, departure at the airport.) There have been so many phone calls and messages, I feel quite overwhelmed at such kindness. I leave Australia well-supported, but also eagerly awaiting what lies ahead and, above all, grateful for this wonderful opportunity.

After 23 years of fulfilling ministry at Australian Catholic University, the leader of my Congregation, Sisters of Charity of Australia, invited me to undertake a Sabbatical program. I was delighted and, after considerable research, I found one that seemed to tick all the boxes. This four month program, Ministry to Ministers, is offered by the Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Texas.
