Hi all!!!

It was a great weekend at the farm!! It much reminded me of my families lake house. No phone service, no tv, no iPads. Just lots, and lots.. and lots of family time and board games. (and a few beers). It was supposed to be 90 degrees and sunny all weekend. Thankfully, the farm house is on a river so we just jumped in whenever we were hot. We left at 5am so that the little beast would sleep and not get car sick. We got her in the car and she spewed before we even left the driveway. Cleaned it up, started the trip and realized the aircon was dead on this beautiful 80 degree morning. Great start to the trip!

The farm was about 30 minutes to civilization (a town with 1 gas pump and 1 quick mart) but it felt so good to be away for a little bit. But I did come back just in time to hear more drama with North Korea and the Kardashians are pregnant!! While at the farm, we stained the deck and the fence, swam, had a picnic with the cows and shot a rifle. My host dad's brother came up so we hung out with some cousins during the weekend as well. Super fun! This was my first time shooting a rifle!

We got back Tuesday, I worked the rest of the week. This past weekend I had off and Jordan and I went up to Nelson Bay. Saturday morning we ran a 'fun run' (is there such thing), ate some amazing crepes from a food truck. That afternoon we went surfing. It was pretty small waves and it was so good! We went out that night with Jordan's friends from high school. My confidence of surfing got pretty high Saturday.... until we went out again on Sunday. I got swallowed by the waves. Confidence shot. And I woke up this morning to this article that a shark was at the very same beach I was surfing at the previous day! Close call!

Sunday night was the Rugby League Grand Final and Jordan and I just watched it at his mom's home. Rugby is insane. It's like football without the pads/helmets- talk about concussions!

Yesterday (Monday) was Australian Labor Day. Both of my host parents had the public holiday off, but they asked me to watch the kids so they can go on a date night. According to the big beast Date Night is 'when husband and wife go out on a date and kiss all day and all night.' Apparently, she hates date night and she never wants a husband and instead is going to have 'friendship days' when all her friends get together and play.

Also, in America you would have a glass of red wine before/after your date night, right?! Well, my host parents treat themselves to a glass of Fireball and apple juice. Fireball is very expensive here and is apparently a delicacy. Very different from Vail where it is 1$ for a shooter of Fireball that you shove in your pocket for the chairlifts...... They ask me if I want some and I politely decline. Spew.

Anyway, I BOOKED MY FLIGHT HOME! Jordan and I will be in Hawaii on Dec 18, and to the states by Christmas. Hope to see as many of y'all as I can!

Sending love.

Madi
