Question.

I'm flying out from Vancouver, Canada and will be landing in Frankfurt at 8:20am. I plan on heading straight throught to Vienna.

There is one plane that leaves at 9:40am. Does anybody know if i will be able catch that flight? The next plane doesn't leave until 7pm.

I could take the train or fly into Bratislava, but by 8:20 i would've been traveling for 14hours and would love to just get to my final destination.

a little insite from experienced travelors would be great.

Hello Vanessa 😊

I dont see any reason why you would not be able to take the morning flight.
Do you mean because of the public transport times?
I flew out of Frankfurt one time in the morning. The subway I took to the airport was at around 6AM. I cant remember exactly.
Best to double check on the internet about the first subway to the airport because it was 10 years ago when I was in Frankfurt.

Oh, I see the reason now. You land in Frankfurt on the day you want to fly out.
I would take the evening flight. Your flight from Vancover might have delays.

If you can get this as a connecting flight (i.e. your luggage is transfered automatically) you can make it.
But if you have first to claim your luggage and than re-check in for the second flight to Vienna you've not much chance to make it.

From my understanding, the time needed between flights depends on the airline because some of them require earlier check in times and the like. For the sake of convenience, it's best to choose connecting flights with the same airline (in other words, the itinerary will be composed of all of Delta or all of Air France).

Speaking of which, my flight to Germany is through Air France. I've heard it's a good airline. Any comments? Reply to this
