Advice on guide in Istanbul

Any recommendations?

We will be in Istanbul for a couple days in May and would like a recommendation on a guide. Since we are there for such a short time, it doesn't need to be adventurous, just the main sights. We had contacted SRM travel, but they said they were booked. Thanks for any information Reply to this

Are you looking for a tour? Are you looking for a private guide to take you around the city? Are you looking for a guide book to do it yourself? Are you looking for a list of things to see while in Istanbul?

I went by myself, with a copy of Istanbul Lonely Planet under my arm, I saw a lot, and loved every minute. Reply to this

I don't know of any specific private guides. All I can suggest is to look through guide books, these often have recommendations for private guides.

I went to the Rick Steves website. He's really good, but only North American's will know him. He write guide books and has a television series, he only travels to Europe. I think you Europeans will find him too American, and the Americans will find him to be like a European. I think his recommendations are good. On his website I found this: http://www.melitour.com/

Good luck
