Hey!

I'm buying a Land Rover Defender and driving through southern and eastern Africa from mid-April for 3 to 6 months. I'm looking for travel companions any portion of the journey. Want to join me?

I'm a 26 year old American male. I've just spent the past few years living in Zambia and South Africa working on HIV treatment programs and now I want to do some travel before heading back to the US.

Route is tentatively: SA -> Namibia -> Botswana -> Zambia -> Malawi -> Tanzania -> ? (Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Mozambique are all of interest)

I'm looking for young, active, adventurous people like myself to come have a blast with me. Join early and you can influence the plan to suit your interests.

I'm planning to keep food and lodging as low-cost as possible during most of the trip. That means camping wherever possible and cooking our own food. The vehicle can take up to 5 passengers and is fully equipped with storage space, long range fuel tank, dual-battery system, fridge/freezer, high-capacity water tank and everything you need to make sure you make it through the African terrain.

Cheers,

Hey Steve and Meg (and anyone else interested)

Still planning timing, route etc. Possible short job in rwanda just came up, so might change timeline a bit.

Glad to know you're interested and I'll be in touch with anyone who responds as soon as I have more info for you. Have purchased the vehicle so the trip is happening one way or another! Defender 110 all kitted out.

Yes Meg, I also put an ad on gumtree.

Hi will

How short is a short job? Was ideally oranising to do the trip myself in Octoberish. Know its not the best time to travel Southern Aftrica but worked out well for finances.

chat later
