The most useful/important thing you learnt at school?

What was the most useful or important thing you learnt at school? Do you think you'd have been better off home-schooled or going to school later?

A useful lesson I learnt in school inaddition to the lessons mentioned above. On Thursday the math teacher asked us a question. The question , "Why does a mouse when it spins?" He let us think above it overnight. The next day he gave us the answer, which was "The higher, the fewer." Our assignment for the weekend was to find the connection between the given question and the given answer. The following Monday he queried us as to our efforts. Many of the us presented quite creative connections. After listening to our various attempts at connection, he told us the answer. There wasn't any!! Indeed how could there be a connection between a non-sensical question and an equally non-sensical answer. And that's what he was trying to teach us, the capacity of the human mind to make connections when non exist in reality. Reply to this
