Aix for the summer - need itinerary help

Aix by way of ??? Dublin? London? Paris?

Hi.

I'm teaching a course in Aix en Provence this summer, and am looking for an interesting and relatively inexpensive way to get there. I've explored some options out of Los Angeles, and it seems as though it is the same price to fly Air Lingus to Dublin, hang out for a week, then fly to Marseille - than to fly direct from LA to Marseille (@$1500).

Any ideas? I'll be in Aix for 6 weeks in June and July. Reply to this

Hi,

While I love to encourage people to visit my native city, remember that it can be quite expensive to hang out for a week. The cost of living, accommodation etc is almost comparable to London, and likewise with eating out. It's a great place to visit and there is plenty to do - see:
Dublin nightlife

There is much to see from a cultural and historic viewpoint also - who don't you do some research and decide?

To prove my point about the cost of things, the barometer is often taken as the price of a pint of Guinness. The average price in the greater Dublin area is about €4.50 = $6.60 = in the city centre you can pay at least €5.50 upwards in some clubs! Reply to this
