Hello

I am going to be campervaning it around europe with a couple of buddys as of the 1st August. Our First destinantion is going to be Perpignan which is on the south of France Spanish Border. I however want to set of in July just so I can enjoy the hot weather for a bit longer. Because they need to complete there university Exams this is not an option for them, so I am thinking of heading of earlier and meeting them wherever it is I am when they arrive in the area. I have been toying with going straight to Barcelona and was basically wondering if it is possible to live in a pop up tent on a beech.

What do you think about this idea

Hello Lplates 😊

I have moved this to the Europe forum.
There are likely more people looking there who can answer your question.

Hello Lplates,

really hard live in a pop up tent in Barcelona Beach...all night there is a lot of police that control that nobody sleep in the beach and I don't know in winter but in summer season every night BNC Neta clean the beach so with big machine so I think it's impossibile maybe nearby Barcelona ...

Defenetly not recomended to try that! Not safe and you would not have to wait long to have a visit from the local police or guardia civil. Stay at a campground or hostel!

Best regards Jorgen

most people that sleep on the beach in barcelona are moved on by the police and it's probably not that safe anyway. There are some camping sites but they're outside of the city. accommodation can still be pretty cheap there though Reply to this

I was in the South of France in September a couple of years ago. It was still hot.
I was in Venice in October one year. It was warm enough to sit at outdoor tables of cafes but with a light jacket on.
November even in the South of Europe is not hot. I was in Rome last November. Some people were sitting at the outdoor tables of cafes but for me it would be too cold for that. It was certainly not even nearly warm enough to swim outdoors.
Anyplace in Central or North of Europe would be getting cold. Sometimes it might be just about warm enough to swim outdoors but I would not rely on it.

Thanks Mel :-). You see this is what I have been telling my friends, if we leave in august we are litterally going to get just one month of nice weather in which we can sun ourselves. The Start of July is by far a better time to go. Has anyone else any info on Europe weather as of september. Reply to this

July tends to be very very crowded in Europe. I once travelled around Europe in July and had to sleep in a few train stations because hostels and campsites were all full up. Personally, I would avoid travelling in Europe in July.

U could possibly ask farmers if u could park the campervan on their land. They would probably not be beside the beach, but at least if they let u park on their property u would not have to deal with people objecting to u parking in their neighbourhood or whereever.
