travelling around greece

hi i'm planning to travel around greece in august/september but there dont seem to be many hostels on the mainland.guide books reccomend camping oin the mainland just wondering if any one can give any advice on this! Reply to this

I'm familiar with the north of greece - and yes there aren't many hostels - but it is a cheaper area (borders the former Yugoslavia) so you'll find that hotels will be a cheap option. I was travelling in the off season (early Apr) - a double room averaged €35 then.

There is a (not so great) hostel in Thessaloniki - that was the only exception I found. Reply to this
