This is my first post and also my first trip over to Europe. I sure would appreciate all the help I could get!
I am 20 years old and traveling solo. I want to hit mostly the big cities, and perhaps a couple of quaint villages. I like to move at a comfortable pace, really taking in each city before I move on. Here is my tentative itenerary:
4/23-30/08 Madrid
5/2-12/08 Morocco tour (meeting up with my Dad)
5/14-20/08 Paris (possibly some other destinations in France)
5/21-25/08 Amsterdam
5/26-30/08 Berlin
5/31/08-6/3/08 Prague
6/4-7/08 Krakow
6/8-11/Budapest
Here are my specific questions/concerns:
-In regard to getting from Madrid to Casablanca, which is where I am meeting up with my Dad, I guess I have a couple of options. Option 1:fly. Option two: train/bus/ferry. Option two appeals to me more because it provides a more intimate connection with the geography, but how exactly would it work??
-My last stop is Budapest, afterwhich I will return to the US. Would it be more economical to fly out of Budapest, or take a train to a larger hub, say Frankfurt or Paris, and then fly out?
-Judging by my intenerary, will the Eurail Global Pass Flexi 10 days in 2 months be sufficient, or will my proposed schedule require a 15 days in 2 months pass?
Should I use my Eurail pass for every single one of my train trips, or would it be wiser to purchase certain routes point-to-point?
Thank you for your time and consideration. I really do appreciate it! And, please please, feel free to comment on my overall intenerary (i.e. places/times) if you think it would be helpful.
Best Wishes,
Nick
