I am planning to spend 5-6 nights in both Paris and Rome this upcoming May. I have found several sites that rent apartments for short time periods like that, and I'm really interested in this housing option. However, I'm not sure if they end up working out well, and I was just wondering if anyone on this board has ever rented an apartment abroad. Also, I'm looking for any suggestions anyone might have as to what companies to work with.

Lastly, I'm looking over each city, and there are so many wonderful sights that I'm having trouble deciding where I want to stay, and if anyone has opinions to share on where to stay in each city, I'd appreciate hearing them!

Thanks!

It's generally a good idea to rent an apartment direct with the owner to get the best deal and have the option of having any problems(not likely!) sorted out straightway, try this site for different options www.nozio.com Reply to this

i stayed in apartments before and i think i prefer hotels. (it was in Hungary and i shared it with quite a few mates, i am probably just too old now 😉) these days you are spoiled for choice when it comes to booking online. i would recommend Hotelco for anyone from uk.

For Paris apartments, I´ve trawled the internet a thousand times and this website is definitely the best in terms of quality and value for money. http://www.oh-holidays.com/en/france/paris/apartments_1/

Hope that's helpful!!! Reply to this

I stayed at a nice Apartment near the seaside in Rome. It was a train ride away from the city center. We had a nice time there! Try it! There are some pictures here:
Our seaside rental apartment

You can also try the other apartments in Italy here... but I haven't tried those. Some are in the city center.
List of Others

I hope this helps! Reply to this

Hi,
I think if you google search the options you want, you should see a whole host of options.
You will see tour operators, direct owners and 'portals', e.g. holiday rentals .co.uk
Depending on where you want to book, I would suggest using a company, you then dont have the risk of problems with an unprofessional owner and some comeback if any problems ensue.
Companies like and www.holiday-rentals .co.uk are worth a try.
Saving that, its always worth trying the local tourist board websites for some suggestions.
