Its more like, lets concentrate on Taliban, and Sadam's bio weapons.

What spin do you think they should be putting on it? This is part of the world news and people are entitled to know about it. But, I have read about much more than this in the news. But maybe that is because I use more sources than CNN?

Or, lets keep Peter Schiff quiet because he actually knows what he's talking about. And if people actually find out how the bailout plan is really going effect the economy everyone might vote us out of power.

These things have not been kept so quite that you could not find out about them.

But lets let you listen to Obama because he's more popular among the business community and general public.

Or because what he does is so important that it may influence what is happening in all countries of the world. The US is one of the worlds most influential countries.

I not saying in anyway that the money is used to fund shady organizations, but more like, how does a priest afford to drive an Audi. There might even be huge tax breaks for such organizations, don't know. My opinion, not a very popular one :P

I think as well as money from the state, they also receive gifts from their followers. When I was a kid the church used to send somebody around with an envelope with my parents name on it. With their names on the contribution, how many of the congregation would dare give a stingy gift or not give back an envelope at all that would be noticed by its absense. And they had what is known as church gate collections to collect money for the church. Nobody would dare walk past those srategically placed tables and the person standing at each reminding them that there is a basket on this table for you to put money in and we are going to watch how much you put in. Then there was also a basket passed around the church during the service for people to put more money in. Reply to this

This is true, but it does bring some unity and stability to some parts of the world.

Does it? As far as I can see it is ripping humankind appart.

Where if everyone was on there own and didn't have a common purpose we would not have this kind of progress in mankind.

I am not sure religion gives us a sense of purpose. Does it give you a sense of purpose?

A lot of things including spirituality give me a feeling of purpose. Religion, while it may have a purpose is way too influential. A tool that was designed to gently get us in touch with our spirituality is now doing the opposite. War is against what the human spirit wants. Love, generousity, peace.... are what the human spirit wants. Things like the gender biased rule for the Temple in question are disturbing the human spirit and that is why they create heated topics. Discrimination is against what the human spirit wants. It disturbs the peace of those being discriminated against and does not even bring true happiness to those who are reaping the rewards of discriminating against others.

Religion is becoming a little out dated but it still keeps communities in touch and connected.

It is a lot outdated. It has been quite a while since things like equal rights for women and homosexuality being allowed have become goals of human rights advocates and many of the worlds societies.

It helps you remember your roots and what reminds you of the sacrifices that were made to give you this new world.

I am not sure I understand this sentence. What sacrifices and what new world?
