I thought it would be good to get some discussion on the Eurail happening in the forum. I get asked a lot of questions from TravelBlog users. Lets post tips and hints here. I have some helpful info in my travelblogs. Search "Crackly" for my blogs on Eurail and other European destinations. Reply to this

In most European countries you can leave your bags in lockers at the train stations. This is quick and convenient if you have half a day or so and want to go walking. However, in Italy, all baggage must be checked in by you at a drop off point called "deposito baglio". It is not uncommon to wait over 2 hours in peak season in places like Rome, Venice, Florence, etc. just to get your baggage checked in. My tip is, jump on the Metro, go down a stop or 2 to a quieter station and most times, you can get your baggage checked in under 5 minutes ... and youre on your way. Cheers, Crackly. Reply to this

I have seen quiet a few posts on the Euro train passed, and just wonder if they are worth it, or could u just buy single tickets like we do here in the UK? Reply to this

i would get a eurail or railplus pass, except for eastern europe which is very cheap anyway. Sometimes the special fares work out better value - if you can actually get a cheap seat though. Each train is allocated only so many seats at the special fare which can make travelling together a bit difficult Reply to this

To be honest I am not that keen on traveling around Europe by train. I have done it often but I don't like this form of travel. Click here to see why. I also share a few suggestions about how to do it if you do decide to travel like this. Reply to this
