I'm looking at doing this tour

which seems pretty amazing. I have travelled lots, but never been to the beer fest. Anyone have any advice on how long i should go there?
They offer 3 days in Munich on this tour. Should I consider going early and then jumping on that tour?

Munich is a great place. Oktoberfest this city comes to life! I went to Oktoberfest last year and had great fun. It is probably worth doing it with a tour group to ensure transport, accomodation etc. If you are only going to drink beer, 3 days will be more than ample. You must try a pork knuckle! (If you are a meat eater). You must go for a stroll in the park. It is very beautiful and there is a man made wave there that attracts many surfers. But the Bavarian alps are not far away and is a lovely drive down the "Romantic Road" along the alps. Enjoy and "Prost!"

Yep, I did the tour last year and i have to say it was the best thing i ever did. truly experience of a lifetime, am putting some pics up on facebook etc in few weeks and a small vid on youtube.
we had 19 people all up, 3 from usa and bout 10 from aus, rest from germany and 1 from uk i think. best thing was that it wasnt ONLY oktoberfest, the highlight was the last place called Duesseldorf. it blew every other place away for pure full on partying, there are literally over 300 pubs one after the other. i was plastered for 12 days straight 😊
i am doing their Asia tour this year as well in october, hopefully another europe tour in 2010, will see.
all in all, if youre going there for beerfest, this is it. best 2k you ever spend (plus lots more for drinking lol)
