hi, me n my sis are plan to visit spain in octubre, arriving probably 7th, departing 20th.

could anyone kindly advice for accom & food (tight budget)
and transport method (flexible, preferably time saving)?

we drop beaches, and 1/2 museo in madrid & bcn would be enough.
we love scenery, great architecture & landscape, quiet stroll... 😊

So far the itin is as below :

- Barcelona 4d
- fly to Granada
- Granada, 3d, w/ trip to guadix
- train to Ronda
- Ronda, 2d
- bus to sevilla
- Sevilla, 2d/3d
- bus/ train to cordoba
still not decided ..... advice?
- Cordoba, 1n
- train to Madrid
- Madrid, 3/4d (w/ day trip to Segovia, Toledo)

many2 thanks for your help

Definately go to Granada, that has everything and more that you guys want to see, and as for Ronda I have know idea....Sevilla I've heard is fantastic and is a must see and Cordoba and Madrid are really good. As for Barcelona, but of course this is my personal opinion, I didn't care for it...I don't regret the fact that I went but I'm not madly in love with the city...to me there are better places to see in Spain and if I could redo my trip to Spain again, I don't think I would have gone to Barcelona...it wasn't for me. There is a lot to see there and it is pretty but you can whip through all the sites really quickly and nothing really excited me or blew me away...it was a good trip and went well but that city just didn't catch my heart as my other two destinations in Spain which were Granada and Valencia. Valencia is also very pretty and I highly recommend it. Also Murcia looked very lovely from what I saw of it, and Malaga, Santiago de Compostela and San Sebastian are supposed to be really pretty but they might be too out of the way....Toledo and Segovia are both supposed to be very nice.
In regards to the answers to your other questions, the hostel I stayed at in Granada was Makuto Backpackers; it was very good; I liked it and I'd stay there again. Spain is very cheap, so finding a cheap meal at a restaurant is not going to be difficult, but you could also go to the many indoor and open air markets and buy some things to cook up or reheat at your hostel. Stay at hostels, you'll save more money than at a budget hotel. also to save money on food you might want to eat your lunches and your dinners at tapas places because tapas is very affordable and is good and is traditional Spanish food. I think in regards to saving time on transportation, I think bus is your best bet and is your cheapest way to go. Other than that, I think what you have in mind is good...you seem to have a good schedule lines up. Oh, if you go to Barcelona, I staied at the Saint Jordi hostel, the one near Passeig de Gracia and it was very good if you decide to go to Barcelona-even though I didn't like you might, but Barcelona I don't think has the great architecture and landscapes that you're looking for...its' pretty and Gaudi's work is interesting and cool, but it wasn't all that to me...I'm just not in love with the city I'm sorry.

Well girls, good luck with your trips and your planning and have a great time! I wish you both the best of luck and happy travels! Reply to this

hi danielle,

thanks very much for replying and lotsa info. very helpful! :D

we're postponing our jouney to spain this year, bcoz something came up and i've lost a week of my leave days, so with only around 1 1/2 week holiday, no good in trying to tour around spain, i think.

isntead we're going to NZ this year-end.. you have any experience there to share?
we're covering both islands. skipping dunedin - not interesting there for me 😊

thanks again.
cheers,
