1st trip & Torn between... ... ..
1. Madrid/Toledo/Segovia/Avila/Madrid/Barcelona
2. Madrid/Toledo/Segovia/Avila/Madrid/Granada/Ronda/Cordoba/Seville
3. Barcelona/Granada/Ronda/Cordoba/Seville
1st Trip to Spain, 10 - 13 days in 28June - 11July.
a. I am torn:
1. Madrid/Toledo/Segovia/Avila/Madrid/Barcelona
2. Madrid/Toledo/Segovia/Avila/Madrid/Granada/Ronda/Cordoba/Seville
3. Barcelona/Granada/Ronda/Cordoba/Seville
Looking for opinions of experienced travelers to Spain. We have flexibility with transport, as we will:
Flying in from: Frankfurt or Düsseldorf
Flying out to: Paris
b. If I were to do route 1.
i. Is it needed to rent car for "Toledo/Segovia/Avila" or its better to take the day trip tour? If so, any recommended sites / company?
ii. Between Madrid to Barcelona is it better to go via Train / Car or Air. Will it be a waste of time on the road if I was to take the Train or Car? & better off spending more time @ Barcelona or?
c. Wish to travel in a even paced schedule. Nothing too Rushed nor Relaxed.
Please Advice & Thanks a million in advance

Reply to this Hi,
I dare to recommend you an alternative route:
-Barcelona( 3 days)
-Fly to Madrid (4 days). Visiting from there:
Salamanca (1 day trip or staying 1 night)
Toledo: (1 day trip)
For these trips rent a car.
- High speed Train (AVE) from Madrid to Seville ( 2 days)
Rent a car and drive to Cordoba( 2 days and Granada ( 2 days)
And there´s so much to see: the north, the islands, the villages in the center.....you should come back again!!!
I hope you find it useful
Regards
Reply to this Hi Quijote,
Thanks for the reply.
I was considering doing this route.:
Madrid 2 days
Toledo 1 day *return to madrid*
Salamanca 1 day *stayover 1 night*
Avila & Segovia 1&1/2 days * stayover @ Segovia 1 night*
Madrid 2 days again
Barca 4 days
What do you think?
Although I am still thorn if i should rent car for the Salamanca - Avila - Segovia trip or use the train. ..

Hi,
Sorry for my late reply, probably you have everything solved by this time.
Anyways, I think the route you consider is really good.
I still recommend you the car for Salamanca-Ávila-Segovia trip but if you don´t feel like driving the train could be the best option. Take a look on the national rail company:

I hope you have a pleasant trip
Bye bye!!
Reply to this You can't beat the experience of visiting Andulusia, my suggestion would be to take option 2:- Madrid/Toledo/Segovia/Avila/Madrid/Granada/Ronda/Cordoba/Seville but if you can squeeze in Barcelona in as well, that would make it a perfect trip and see the different parts of spain! Possibly skip Ronda, as from what I understand it is similar to Toledo, or vice versa, so that would free up some extra time to fit in Barcelona. Trains are excellent in Spain and also car hire is not too expensive of the trains don;t fit your itinerary and the countryside is beautiful.
