I am in Killarney 7/13-7/19; on the 19th I am trying to get to shannon to get back to the usa. the bus service seems patchy in the am (9am-1220pm); is there any faster way to get to shannon for a 12:15 flight? How does the rail line to Limerick link to the airport? thanks
Reply to this A word of warning here...there is no direct train from Killarney to Limerick. The Dublin train goes through a station called Limerick Junction, which is in fact in County Cork (I know how very Oirish!). Shannon is pretty poorly connected transport wise. Have you taken a look on the airport website? Here is a link to the bus timetable from Limerick to Shannon...

Best of luck
Reply to this Thanks for the information. After some work on the web, I decided to leave 7/19 by plane (early in the am) from Kerry to Dublin and on to Los Angeles "on time." The Shannon route was just not working out (early bus only works on Mondays).
I am, however, planning to arrive at Cork Airport on 7/13 (4:15 pm), and hope to get the train to Killarney in the late afternoon (via Mallory).....I am hoping this route will work out...so I can see the landscape before dusk. Then I have to find "Aghadoe Heights Hotel" via Muckross Park.
Of course, with this as my virgin trip.....I am just looking forward to getting around town.....
cheers!
