Only a few days to do a short trip to Greece and its Islands. Which place do I pick??
Hi, so I am currently in Israel, living here for about 8 months now. I am hoping to do a short trip to Greece or one of its Islands sometime in March. I have been dying to go to Greece for years, and I'm not sure that its worth it for me to only go for a few days, because I know I could spend weeks seeing everything. So, first of all, all you Greece experts, do you think its worth it to only go for a few days? And if yes, which part of Greece do I go to? Which Island? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Reply to this Hi,
First let me tell you that March is a little too early in the season. Most of the hotels will be closed as well as the restaurants, cafe, etc.... The best would be to go in may-June-September for calm holiday and July-August for crowded one.
Greece has many islands and it is difficult to tell. You mus help be by telling me what exactly you are looking for.
Just in few words:
If you want a very special, beautiful and romantic island check for Santorini
If you want a cosmopolitan atmosphere, gay friendly and nightlife orientated check Mykonos
If you want calm holiday check for Naxos. It has a little of everything.
If you are younger that 25 and want to party all night long go to Ios.
All of them above (except from Ios) has archaeological ruins and beauties.
I could describe the islands for hours. Tell me what you are looking for and I will be happy to advise you. I have been in more than 45 islands.

Reply to this Hi, Alexis,
I will go to Greece this summer. Do you have any suggestion for a two night stays in Santorini? I would like to stay at Fira, MUST have a see view, white house, romantic, good for me and my hushand for a honeymoon stay. Price around 70-100 Euro.
Besides, how's Crete? I will stay there at my friends' house for 1 week. But is it a good place for stay? Do you have any suggestion in planning my days in Crete?
Thank you.
Reply to this Alexis gave a perfect analysis of choices I think.
Sheren, you might have to spend more for a room with a nice view. Crete is awesome, you need a few days to go around it though.

Reply to this Whatever plan you choose to do, just make sure that Santorini is somewhere in the mix. After a visit to Oia Village, you'll be happy you added it to your itinerary.
