Travelling by public transport

I am visiting Serbia, Belgrade in December and since the trip will last for 10 days, I would like to explore places not far from the capital by public transport.

There doesn't seem to exist a page like "journey planner" for Belgrade or Serbia in general.
Where to find information about bus timetables? (Is this true that rail transport is very slow and sometimes even dangerous in Serbia???) I have checked various webpages on Serbia and Belgrade, but in most cases information I need is either outdated or absent. I would like to have day trips to places not too far from Belgrade. One idea is to see the fortress in Smederevo. I would also like to see the real village life. However, I wonder how possible is that. There are some so-called ethno villages, but is there any public transport available? Can anyone recommend any places which are are not that hard to find?
I would like to avoid travel agencies if possible. I do have some elementary knowledge of the language though 😊 Reply to this

Hi, I am not sure what kind of journey planner you are looking for, but I have used the train planner from plane and train to plan my train journeys and book the tickets for point to point travel across europe. Reply to this
