I need to apply for a Schengen Visa for my parents. I need to know all details.

Hi, I am a currently studying in Athens. I wanted to invite my parent over for a one month holiday. I have read all details in regards to ticket reservations and I can manage that but when it comes to staying there is a bit of a problem. I am staying in a rented apartment over here. I would like them to stay with me. But for the visa application the website says that I need to provide a, "solemn declaration signed by a Greek Authority". Do I have to actually show these deatils or a declaration and invitation letter from me will suffice?

Hello Amanda and welcome to Travelblog!

Queries re Schengen Visas are common on this and other websites. For the definitive answer to your question, I suggest your parents contact the Embassy directly to ask what they require. Interpretations and implementation of rules for visa issuance are different for different embassies (I've had personal experience of this). It does sound odd considering these different embassies do represent the same country, but it is a reality. Reply to this
