I am travelling to Vienna from 3rd of April till 7th and want to visit historical and touristic places during this time. I am wondering what are the places that we can go and visit?

The other thing is the "things to do" part. What is suitable to be done during this period of time? What and where to eat, for example.

Thank you. Reply to this

Hello Sarah, I spent a few days in Vienna a few years ago and it was a great place.

I would certainly head to the Kunsthistorisches Museum, Imperial Palace (Hofburg), and Schonbrunn Palace for starters. Schonbrunn has an impressive royal treasury.

If you are a lover of classical music, there is plenty to see. Check to see what is playing at the State Opera House or other halls within Vienna. Try to hear the Vienna Boy's Choir during a service at the Burgkapelle in Hofburg Palace. You won't see the choir as they sit in a balcony above, but they did mingle with the crowd after the Mass. You'll need to obtain a ticket to get a seat, and they sell out fast. The Choir also performs in a concert style venue, but I preferred to see them in their intended church setting.

Lovers of classical music should visit the Central Cemetery (Zentralfriedhof) where Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert and Strauss are all buried within sight of each other. There is also a memorial to Mozart, since he is buried in this cemetery, but no-one is sure where. Reply to this

Thank you very much. I liked visiting the botanical garden that seems to be in the Schonbrunn. Reply to this

You are welcome. I must correct something, the treasury is in the Hofburg. Reply to this
