We are considering going to Switzerland in the fall if we can make it happen.

We'd like all your suggestions on the must see and off the beaten track suggestions. Do you have a favorite hike, favorite town or village? We'd love to hear your thoughts.

The Bernese Oberland is spectacular. I particularly liked Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald, a great place to base yourself.

Switzerland offer a all-inclusive rail and/or bus pass. Applies to everything and it is a very good rate.

You absolutely must visit the Jungfraujoch - site of the highest train station in Europe and some outstanding scenery. However, only go if you can sight the mountains from the ground, otherwise you will not see anything once you climb the heights.

I remember also going to Zermatt which is at the base of the Matterhorn. A good way to see the area is to take the train (Gornergratbahn) up the surrounding hills and hike down the valley. Reply to this
