Are you able to narrow what your family likes doing - is it cities, mountains, beaches, country areas, theme parks? That would help with suggestions. Reply to this

I really love the Alps of Switzerland and Austria. The area around Interlarken is very beautiful, and there are some lovely lakes and waterfalls in the area as well. It is cheaper to stay in places as Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen than Interlaken.

Austria also has some lovely areas away from the cities. I've heard the Dolomites in Northern Italy are beautiful, but I have not seen that area.
