Destination ideas needed.
Hi all, I'm Chris from England.
I'm looking for recommendations on where to travel across Europe from Saturday 2nd June - Sunday 10th June.
I'm going to be travelling with 2 or 3 other friends, probably going to get the Eurotunnel to Calais, France & drive to our destination. We're all aged around 22-24.
So far we've looked at going to Brussels, Bruges, La Rochelle, Monaco, Berlin, Munich. But we can't decide on where to go. I'm aware of the distances & driving that far is no problem.
One of my friends is a mason so he's interested in old architecture, but we'd also like to find somewhere that has a good night life.
Would like other peoples thoughts.
Thank you 😊
Reply to this Hello Chris and welcome to Travelblog!
You could consider Prague - magnificent architecture in the old city.
Reply to this If I were you, considering your age I would do Brugge, Brussels and Amsterdam. You have plenty of time visiting it and it is not too far to drive.
Another option would be Munich. Lose this city and with the Autobahn it could be a fun road trip.
I would also consider the south of France.
Nick
Reply to this Hi Chris,
You should really consider going to London. My experience in the EDF Energy London Eye was really amazing! I got a clear view of the many landmarks of the place. You also have to try and climb the Tower of London, a very famous building in London that tells a brief story of the history of the place. I got my hotel form <snip> and luckily, they gave me a hotel that was located in the heart of the city so I have the access to many tourist destinations of London.

He is from England, I am sure he visited London in the past. Not that I don't love London, which I consider my favorite city, I am sure he want to go away from England.
Where are you going afterall?
Reply to this Hi again,
Change of plans. I put a deposit on a house so no expensive holidays this year. I went camping in Cornwall over the Jubilee weekend. Was good fun but we got soaked!
Thanks for the advice. Once I can afford it I'll be sure to go travel Europe.
Reply to this Well just a quick update. I'm going on a road trip across the mainland in August. A friend of mine is backpacking out there for 2 months so I plan on driving and meeting him in Croatia. Going to go via the Nurburgring 😊

Reply to this Excellent news - are you seeing any races at Nurburgring when you are there, or will be taking a drive around the track?

I'd love to take my car around there but I'll have to check what dates its open to the public.
On a route through Belgium, Germany and Austria where should I stop to see the sights? I spent some time in Vienna a couple of years ago so would like to go somewhere else.
Here's a map of my journey, not fixed by any means.

Reply to this Cologne Cathedral since you are heading straight through there. Try to make a detour to Salzburg and the surrounding area - the old town is lovely. Neuschwanstein Castle is supposedly worth a visit (it was rubbish weather when I drove through the area so didn't bother), but it is south-west of Munich, so likely to be too far out of your way.
