Traveling to Europe March Thru September, a little overwhelmed anything that i simply cannot miss?
I'm planning a 6 month backpacking trip starting in March, wondering if anyone can give me some pointers and suggest anything that I just HAVE to fit in. Also I'm a chef so any amazing food finds would be great too!
Thanks
Reply to this The Black Forest cherry-topped chocolate cake is great!!! While you are in the area, visit the castle Neuschwanstein near the town of Fussen. It is a castle which was the model used for the Disneyland theme park.

Reply to this Hi, I am currently a 32 year old mature student in my final year of college. Iv never been abroad except to amsterdam about eight years ago. Im a bit nervous and will be travelling alone. I have always wanted to travel but had a huge fear of flying..ironic and tragic. It was B.A Baracus time on the flight to Amsterdam. Anyway has anyone any tips for me? and is it idiotic to go straight aftre I graduate?? Should I get a loan. I would like to do Asia, India first and New Zealand but friend s have convinced me to do Europe as a taster?? Id really appreciate some advice as I feel a total duck out of water
cheers xx
Reply to this You should definitely check out
for ideas and info on cheap airline tickets, hotels, accomodation and tours. Reply to this Make sure you time your trip so you can hit the festival season in Spain. The best one that you can't miss is the San Fermin Festival, or the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona, Spain. It is every year from July 7-14. But don't make the same mistake I did... arrive early enough to get an idea of what is going on, get accommodations, and if you want to run with the bulls, arrive later in the festival, when it isn't so crowded. You can learn a lot on the web. The official site is
www.sanfermin.com, but if you don't speak Spanish, you'll need some help with housing. Check out
www.pamplonahousing.com and
www.sanferminhousing.com. Check out the balcony rentals if you aren't running - almost impossible to watch the run from street level due to the crowds. Have fun!
Reply to this One word: Budapest. In all the traveling I have done, this was probably my fav place. The best part about it right now is that they are still on the Forint, even though they are part of the EU. The Forint is awesome and after being in Italy, Spain and France, it was a welcome relief to my wallet. I remember calling home via OneSuite and telling my parents that I was going to be staying longer than I'd planned. They were, of course, a little put off---what with wanting me to "get a job" and all, but it was the best decision I ever made. Rather than returning home after a month of Western Europe, I stayed on 2 more months and did the Eastern side, with Budapest as the highlight--enjoy the great food, the super-friendly English speaking folk and the BATHS. Amazing.
