Looking for a few adventurers who have the maturity. flexibility and the means to join by own car to form a small group for a trip through Europe, Turkey, Stan's ,Uruqart Pass, China, Nepal (Everett base camp), China, Laos , Malaysia/Singapore. Perhaps store the vehicle until 2013 and then ship to Sumatra then drive through Java,Bali,Lombok...... ship to Darwin (Australia)

I am a mature and experienced traveller who intends to make this trip with a good friend. (this is too adventurous for my wife).
Our main base is in Sydney-Australia but part of the year we reside/travel in Europe.

To add to the security of all I am planning a small group of 4 vehicles to travel individually most of the time . Always meeting at night in a place agreed the day before. This to ensure that we share experiences and provide backup support if and or when required. But when safety and security requires it to travel in convoy.

Our intention is to take a Diesel Toyota Hi-Ace or a Toyota 4-wheel drive and fit this out with basic camping gear.
Toyota is the most common vehicle thoughout Asia and can be serviced (if necessary) almost anywhere. We will be covering about 20,000km to Malaysia. So the vehicle has to be in good condition.
Overnight we plan to stay in modest accomodation along the way but will be prepared to sleep in the vehicle or camp out when necessary.

At this stage the route is not set , but the plan is to spend approx 4 weeks in Western- Southern China.
The China part will have to have fixed dates as one requires to have a guide with the group.
This is another reason to travel in a small group as one can share the cost of guides and getting permits etc.

The China visa's, car permits and guide will cost approx Euro 3000 per vehicle (incl 2 pers)
Other visa's will be costing in the 10's or at most 100's. Plus the necessary amounts to oil the officials in the various places along the route.

It will be best to commence the trip from Europe as London is the only place where most of the visa's and permits can be obtained in one place. This is intended to be done from April -July 2012
Obtaining visa's and permits will be costly, frustrating and requiring lots of patience and time.

I am happy in organising as much as possible but will require Euro 1000 as a non refundable deposit by 1 October 2011 to cover general cost and make sure the participants are committed.

The most important principle is that the participants are happy , flexible ,open minded, have endurance . If you have all of that please contact me to discuss this exiting adventure. Reply to this
