Have You Ever Been to Romania?

Two weeks ago I went to Romania with my wife and we had a wonderful time.

When we booked this trip, we were quite prejudiced, because we had never been to the Balkan Peninsula before. When we arrived in Bucharest we remained breathless. This city is magnificent!
There are so many landmarks and historical buildings that we hardly explored them all. When we saw the Palace of the Parliament and the Arch of Triumph we couldn't believe we were in Romania. Bucharest looks a lot like Paris. And this grandiose Palace of the Parliament is just unique. There isn't another building like it in the whole world, and as far as I know it holds three Guinness records - for the heaviest building in the world, for the most expensive building in the world and for the biggest civilian administrative building in the world.
What else we liked in Romania was the cuisine. The restaurant of the <snip> we were staying, offered very delicious local and international meals. Not only this but the restaurants inside the city were also spectacular. We will surely go there again.
I'd like to here someone else's impressions from Bucharest, so let me know

My opinion that you should go all around Romania and of course Transylvania. Romania is not just about Bucharest. There are way more beautiful places specially in Transylvania - the landscape and all the historical places. I've been there so many times and I can tell you one of the best welcoming people in Europe are the Szekely in Transylvania.
I hope you'll be able to reach that part of "Romania" as well one day.
All the best.

Romania is a beautiful country but it is not so popular tourist destination. Besides Bucharest there are also a lot of other interesting places which are really worth a visit. One of them is the Bran Castle, regarded as the Castle of Dracula. Peles Palace is one more amazing place to visit. Romania has also wonderful summer resorts. You can visit Mamaia. There are wonderful beaches and a lot of restaurants and bars in the resort. Nearby is the city of Constanta and if you liked Bucharest, I'm sure that you will like Constanta, too. Reply to this
