Hi,

Thanks for reading this.

I'm a 30 something male wanderer from Australia. This will be my first time in Europe. I plan to stay in the capital of each of European countries (mainly Western) over the period mid Jul - Oct 11 to learn and experience the cultural diversity. I'm looking for like minded people to share part of the journey with or meet up to share local delicacies and swap travel stories. If you have any tips on the following locations or suggested things that I must do then please drop a line.

Schedule: 5 nights in each location unless it is a small country. Sequence of travel is dublin, london, paris, luxembourg, brussels, amsterdam, berlin, copenhagen, oslo, stockholm, helsinki, warsaw, budapest, prague, vienna, geneva, venice, rome, monaco, barcelona, madrid and lisbon. Not sure if the amount of time allocated is adequate.

Accommodation: three star + and within 2 km of city centre. Hoping to paid less than $100 per night.

Mode of travel: global rail ticket (airfare and ferry when required). I heard that rail ticket is reasonable compared to airfare. Getting around from hotel to the various sites of interest will be mainly by foot. Day tours to sites of interest will be done by bus or train.

Wine and dine: must do both of these really well.

Budget: $30k

Options: Have looked at other options such as tours but I can't stand rushing around during my holiday, sharing tiny rooms with strangers and eating lousy food. Independent travel is around the same price and better value but a bit more lonesome.

Bottoms up! Reply to this

Hi
and how you planning getting from Helsinki to Warsaw? no passing through Baltic states and no stopping there?

I myself dreaming about Italy in September, but...I dont want to spend much time in big cities, more like provincial towns, nature hikes, resting near the sea..I wish to spend on that about 3 weeks.. Reply to this
