Best Alps Skiing in April

My husband and I are entertaining the idea of skiiing for a couple days between April 3rd- April 6th. We'll be nearest to Frankfurt when heading out.

So we aren't sure where to go or the best way to get there. It seems like Switzerland and France are the most popular but given we have little time and no real experience- I thought I'd reach out to the experts :-)

We are not advanced skiiers but would like a beautiful resort offering high mountains with a variety of slopes. We want to get the real feel of being in the Alps (without killing ourselves please) Beginners to Intermediate I'd say. I might run blues and some (few) blacks in the Colorado but I'm sure that is nothing over there. I really don't have a clue how it compares.

Given that we only have a couple days (Sunday thru Wednesday) we don't want to break our backs getting there. Cheap flights/trains would be preferred. We'll be starting out from Trier, Germany (closest airport Frankfurt) and heading out to London after our couple days of skiing. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

For a short trip and high mountains, Chamonix is great - a short trip from Geneva airport. Great views of Mt Blanc - for the best views, check out the viewing platform at the top of the Aiguille de Midi. Town is not a beatuful ski town, but has a good atmosphere and there is lots of variety in the skiing. Suggest you try skiing at Le Tour. Snow conditions at the moment are not great - but that is a prolem in much of the alps at the moment. It's not cheap though! Reply to this
