Europe on a budget

France, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain, and possibly the UK.

In case you don't want to read, basically I need to know how much money to take to travel around Europe by train and on my bike for 2 months. I can comfortably ride about 100 km a day. Airfare and phones will already be covered

I'm 17, and I want to go to Europe next summer. The only "requirements" of my trip are that I see the end of stages 19 and 21 of the TDF. 19 finishes on Alpe d'Huez, and 21 finishes on the Champs Élysées. I'd also like to go to the Pyrenees, and some of the other Alpine mountains. I'll be bringing my bike, and a limited number of clothes. The only things I have questions about are: What is the best route to take in order to visit the most countries? How much money do I need (not including airfare and phone)? What is the cheapest, best way to stay? I know about Airbnb and couch surfing, but I don't know how to find hostels, or if I would want to stay in one. I will have 8 years of French (3 are high school) by the time I leave, and 2 years of Spanish, plus trips to Mexico.
I am also going to try to volunteer or something with any of the organizations (teams, news, organizers) involved with the Tour. I covered the US Pro Championship this year (press pass and everything!), so I have a little bit of experience. If anyone knows organizations that do this kind of thing, or if they do it at all, that would be greatly appreciated.
Any other ideas or tips about traveling in Europe on a tight budget are appreciated. I've never been to France, and I'm trying to gauge what food and housing will cost. I know about the cycling aspect (my mom did PBP several years ago), and I will be in better shape by the time I leave, and my distance will probably be up to almost 150 km a day by the time I leave.

Thanks in advance.

If cycling on a budget, the hosts of 'Vrienden op de Fiets' (Friends on the Bicycle) are worth to be considered. 19 euro for a room with a bed, a breakfast and a shared bathroom is what these families charge. You will find most of them in the Netherlands and Flanders (the northern half of Belgium). Furthermore 100 families in Germany, 60 families in France (with a small concentration in Burgundy) and two families in Luxembourg participate.

Another recommendation is to base yourself from time to time in one city and to cycle a few loops in that area. Less luggage means longer day trips and no worries about accomodation as you have already your keys to get back.
