Hi,
my partner and I are trying to map out an itinerary for the UK and Europe.
My partner has alread done ALOT of the UK,
so our plan is.....

1. fly into London,
not sure how many days to spend here, as he has already been, and I just want to do the touristy things....like London Eye, Big Ben etc, also Stone Henge...
2. train to Brussels (I have family here, so will base ourselves here for a few days, and then from here visit Paris, and Amsterdam)
3. Italy - my partner hasnt been to Italy, so though we could spend the majority of our time exploring this country together, thought about using the train to travel down to Italy from Paris? good idea?

Do you have any ideas about places to visit, trains/flights...which is best (financially vs convenience), should i include other places that are a MUST SEE?

Look forward to you comments!! EVERYTHING and ANYTHING will be a help!

THANKS GUYS! X Reply to this

You don't mention when you are going and what are your interests.
London has lot's of things to see, museums, parks, castles, shopping and pubs and a lot more. Personally I would suggest spending at least three days because the distances are quite big (even by tube) and you don't want to rush it. Things to do: Walking round in Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens. Walking along the river on South Bank. Checking out Picadilly Circus, Covent Garden, China town, Trafalgar Square. Shopping on Kensington High Street - or just checking out the shop windows. Walking in Chelsea. Some interesting sites a bit out from the center are Hampton Court is Henry VIII (with the many wives) castle, interesting to see and beautiful park, needs at least half a day, in the summer you can go there on a boat trip. Kew Gardens is a botanical garden but you don't need to be especially interested in plants to enjoy the vast park there. Stonehenge is at quite a distance and you should calculate an extra day for that.

Possibly you can get a cheap flight from Brussels to Milano or Rome, but you need to book well ahead. I would think train is quite expensive and may not be worth it (unless you get a rail card).

Italy is full of wonderful things to see - I would definitely suggest Venice, Rome and Pompeii (can be done as a day trip from Rome or from Naples or Sorrento in case you want to go further south). Lake Como or Garda, in case you can fit one of them in, are beautiful.
Enjoy it all Reply to this
