Suggestions for family apartments in London

Hello all,

Can someone please help me. We will be travelling to Europe in June/July and at some stage will be in London for 4 nights. I have a family of 5. Two adults 3 children ages 4, 6 & 12. We intend to do some sightseeing in and around London for the 4 days hopefully showing the kids Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, tower of London etc. and hopefully a visit to Stamford Bridge for my son (12yr old). We are trying to find a 3 bedroom apartment that is not too pricy but reasonable in London in which it gives us easy access to the trains/tubes etc. and is in a safe and secure area with cafes, shops, restaurants. I have been told to maybe look towards west London and stay away from the south due to high crime etc. Was looking at a place Camden (i think its called, but it seems it would be way too noisy and busy) however I understand everywhere in London will be a little loud at night. Not too concerned about noise within reason but obviously would like to feel safe having children.
Another area I have been told is Bloomsbury. Can anyone provide any info. on either the two areas I have mentioned or other areas of London that would be suitable for my family??
Any help would be appreciated
