The only way to find out the proper point-to-point ticket prices is to go to the official website for the railway of the country in which you will be departing. As an example, if you are travelling from Paris to Cologne, you will need to look at the SNCF (French) website. If you are going the other way, you will want to look at the Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) website.

I only have experience with a few of these websites, but they are generally quite easy to use. I will give you a few of the major links, and you can Google for the others. Sadly, some eastern European sites may not be in English, or at least only partially in English.

France: http://www.tgv-europe.com
Germany: http://www.bahn.com/i/view/index.shtml
Italy: http://www.trenitalia.com
Switzerland: http://www.sbb.ch/en/
