what area of Rome to stay in, for buget but safe places?

wondering what area to stay in Rome, but the catch is our buget per night is 70-90 euros and we want a safe area close enough to not waste too much time on travel to the sights. I ve read about termni area but also heard its not safe. Any hotel/hostel/b&b names would be great.
