Hello everybody.

This summer is going to be the first I am traveling alone. So I am asking your help because I simply have less experience that any of you.

I have to get from Frankfurt-Hahn airport (I think I can go to Frankfurt city which is 120km away, if it‘s better) to Neuville-sur-Ain (France, 65km away from Lyon and 22km away from Bourg en Bresse). Date is 2009.07.15 23.30 (frankfurt-hahn).

What is the fastest and the cheapest way getting there? I have to be in my destination on 2009.07.17.

I thought about TGV, but it is very expensive. I would greatly appreciate any tips and any of your help.

hmmm . . . u could go from Mainz (is between Hahn and Frankfurt) to Geneve (swiss) and from there over to Neuville-sur-Ain. I've just found a first class Train ticket one way from Mainz to Geneve for 59 Euro !

--------------
EINFACHE FAHRT, 1 Reisender (Alter: 20 Jahre), 1. Klasse, Mainz - Geneve-Aeroport
Europa-Spezial Schweiz 59,00 EUR

Mainz Hbf
Geneve-Aeroport 02.06.2009 09:04

www.deutschebahn.com
----------------
1.Class ticket is in that case cheaper than the 2.class ! ! ! 😊)))

u also can go Mainz - Neuville-sur-Ain, just can't find a price. Do u wanne go somewhere else ? There is a eurorail ticket available which u can get I think valid for 4-7-14 days . . . means u just writing in your day which u wanne use a train and u can go the hole day with which ever train u like !

Yeah, I already booked my flight. Its rather expensive to go to geneve and then to neuville sur Ain for me. Bad thing is I want to be on neuville sur ain on 07.17 and go cheap too. It might be impossible xD. But thanks for your answer.

Yes, I know this way, but sadly I can go from frankfurt just on 17 day's evening, be in Lyon on 18 morning and then go to neuville. I would be 1 day late. Reply to this

Hello Linda 😊

You could also try www.mitfahrzentrale.de
It is a company that finds paying passangers for people who are making car journeys. There might be somebody going the route you are going and the prices are good too.

There are also other airlines that offer good prices. Try GermanWings and Condor to see if they fly that route. To get good priced plane or train tickets book as much in advance as you can to catch the bargains before they are all sold.

Hello Linda 😊

In response to your private message, I think you have to register on the site and then they find you somebody to make the journey with. I have not tried it, but my boyfriend has. It seems safe. I cant remember how much it costs for a journey but it is a lot less than full price for the train. It is reliable. My boyfriend has never had any problems with it.

I dont know if you could specifically ask for a female driver, but it may be worthwhile trying that.

If you arrive in Hahn at 23:30 it will be the best to stay there.
http://www.hahn-airport.de/default.aspx?menu=hotels&cc=en

Next morning shuttle bus to Mainz
http://hahn.orn-online.de/busfahrplan_mainz.htm
EUR 11,00

DB timetable
http://reiseauskunft.bahn.de/bin/query.exe/en
From: Mainz
To: Geneve
For the 16. July you can still get specials for this route for EUR 39,00. You have to buy this ticket as soon as possible, as these specials tend to sell out fast.

DB timetable can give you connections
To: Pont D'Ain
which is pretty close to Neuville-sur-Ain
