Working Holiday Visas (WHV) for Americans

need information on Working Holiday Visas for Americans in Europe. specifically about educational requirements.

After graduating from high school this year, I'm planning to take a gap-year and live/work/travel in Europe. I have basically ruled out the possibility of getting a work visa or a student visa, but have heard hope-inspiring things about Working Holiday Visas.
I know that Ireland has an agreement with the US through which US citizens 18-30 years old can get WHVs. Does anyone have any information regarding the requirements of obtaining this visa or a WHV for any other European country?
Specifically, I need to know about educational requirements, (i.e., do I have to be a college/university student to be eligible for the visa?).
I know, for example, that for an Australian WHV, citizens of many other countries must be in post-secondary schools to apply for the visa whereas citizens of the US only need to have a high school diploma.
I would appreciate any information regarding this.
Thank you!

What's your status in school, if any? I think BUNAC visas in Britain allow people to have apply up to 6 months or so after losing full time status. I don't know for sure but I participated in one after I graduated College and was no longer full time. www.BUNAC.org Reply to this
