Hello Phil and Camille 😊

Do you have specific questions? It is difficult to for people to answer general questions such as yours.

A copy of the Lonely Planet guide to Europe would give you information about accomodation, transport, sights.... It is available in most bookshops around the word, for around 40 Euros.

I realise I can get a lonely planet and I will be doing that. I am just asking if anyone had anyspecific that stood out to them as a worthwhile destination as I am still in the early planning stages of the trip. Reply to this

Hi, well places that stand out are among others: Venice, Florence and Amalfi coast in Italy (just examples obviously). In Greece, which I know better, there are so many places depending what you are interested in. Archaeology: Athens (Acropolis, Archaelogical Museum, Posedion Temple at Sounion), Delphi (day trip from Athens), Olympia, Epidaurus, Mycenae in Peloponessos, Knossos in Crete. For beautiful nature: Santorini, Crete (Samaria gorge), Pilion, and many other areas. The Cycladic islands are also very beautiful. June is a good time to travel, shouldn't be too hot and it is still relatively low season but the popular places always have lot's of tourists. As you will probably enter Greece from Italy via Patras (ferry port) on the west coast you can start with the Peloponessos sights, then go to Athens, and then by boat to the islands. Renting a car makes it easier of course, but Greece has a great overland bus net called KTEL (timetables can be found on the web) Wishing you a good time Reply to this
