This December through mid January we are traveling though Northern Tanzania and Kenya. We are a group of six and looking for anyone who wishes to come along. We are not traveling through a safari company, and will mostly be camping, but will also stay in some tented camps. All we are asking is you pay your own food, camping fees, help with the gasoline cost, whatever... its super casual and fluid. Maybe if you are already in country and/or don't have a lot of money to travel, whatever your situation is, this is just an open invitation. So if you're interested I would be happy to hear from you!

Hi additam I think I would like to (know I would like to) do this and don't like travelling alone. I'll tell you a few things and I got some questions for you so hope you can answer.
I'm 24, born in England but lived all over the world and will be studying later next year in New Zealand. It's been a while since I travelled and really had enough being in one place. Before I get back to my grad studies I would love to fit in some sort of trip. I've always had a bias for Africa and would love to go to Kenya. I've travelled to Africa and lived there as a child so if you consider me you should know I have a bit of insight so maybe I'd fit in. I wanna earn some cash and had little luck getting jobs, so this isn't definite but I'm going to try to afford something like this. I got a few questions for you, here goes...

You mentioned you'll be staying in tented camps, have you looked that stuff up and know where you can stay in Kenya? Have you looked a bit into the country to know what you can and can't get away with? Africa has a habit of making simple things pretty difficult. You said you're a group of six, I was wondering what sort of age, where are you from, what do you do, etc? Just curious.

Cool, please get back to me on this cos it sounds interesting.

Hi Additam

Am planning a trip at that time. How are you getting around, do you have any dates fixed yet?

Well, we've just set our dates and will be in Dar es Salaam on Jan 10. We will head north through the serengeti and the mara from there and intend to arrive in the kakamega region by the following Sunday.

Like I mentioned before, we will be camping, and just camping. It is now highly unlikely we will be staying in any camps, lodges or the like, except when arriving/departing within Dar.

We are driving ourselves and will hire a couple of guides. The head of our party lived in Uganda and Kenya, and knows the region. We are a small yet diverse party, and we will be roughing it. If you are still interested, know that while we have a relatively fluid itinerary, it is not open to major deviations or complaint, as safety is top priority. We're not in the position to cater to personal wants or expectations. But for the adventurous types, especially those who have not yet been to this part of the world, I expect this to be a very enriching experience.

With that said, I will be willing to discuss more details to those who are seriously interested via email. Reply to this
