Can someone help me ? I will be driving to Prague and Budapest from Vienna and possibly continuing on to Bucharest with a rental car . Please offer any advice or warnings . I have driven in Germany and Austria with no problems . I did need to purchase a stamp-sticker at Austrian border . Are the road signs in all the above cities in English or just the local language . Sorry if this sounds naive. Thanks for your help .Also I know Hertz will not let their cars go over to Prague so I was thinking I should start rental in Prague any advice ? Reply to this

I can't help on the specifics of car rental insurance - sounds like a question to the customer services department of Hertz.

But - on the road signs; The Czech Rep., Hungary and Romania use local language signs, but if you're familiar with European style road signs you'll be fine.

As for place names, all the countries mentioned use latin based scripts (rather than cyrillic) so you will be able to read them and find your way around...

(If you go on to Bulgaria or Serbia though it's a different matter! - though most signs there are in dual script) Reply to this
