Hello Yuer 😊

I think a copy of the Lonely Planet guide to Europe will give you good ideas about where you want to go and what to do in Europe. It contains information about accomodation, transport, money, saftey, sights....... It is available in most bookshops around the world for around 30 Euros.

Hi Yuer,
I don’t know if Portugal is in your plans.
If you decide to come to see this beautiful country, I give you some advices
The weather in September usually is warm,(about 30C in average).
Last year the first rain was in mid November, and I saw some people in the beaches at that time, it was unusual.
Try to see Lisbon (our capital) and his wonderful light, various monuments like “Torre de Belem”, “ Mosteiro dos Jerónimos” , “Padrão dos descobrimentos”, “bairro alto”, eat one of the delicious “pasteis de belém”
Sintra is a mist of mystery and romantic place
Estoril has the finest restaurants, beaches, golf….
All this is near Lisbon, but if you prefer the south (only 2,5 hours by train, for example) you can go to the famous Algarve
I don´t know where are you from, but, Portugal is not expensive, if you compare with England (London)
Have great holidays…
Bav

I would read Rick Steves best of Europe first. I would also be sure to stay in hostels as you will meet other solo travellers that way. Reply to this

How about Malta? I went there last year and LOVED it. The compnay I went with were great and very accomodating to single travellers. I think they were called . Good Luck!

It can still be warm in Portugal in September and maybe sometimes in October. I would expect it to be getting cold enough for sweaters in November. I would bring layers so you can peal off and put on depending on the temperatures.

Here is a site you might find useful.
Average annual temperatures in Portugal

I think if you spend at least 3 nights in each place you stop this will prevent you from trying to squeeze too much into your time. Reply to this

I would let the route depend on the train connections and whether you want to spend nights on the trains. If you want to sleep on trains you will need train journeys that take at least 10 hours. If you want to do this you could criss cross over and back in Europe. If you are not going to sleep on trains take the most time efficient routes.

If you want to catch some warm sunny beach weather maybe then hitting the South of Europe early in your trip is the thing to do.

If you go to to Viena you should visit also Prague. Prague is lovely city with rich culture heritage. You can see interesting sightseeing in Prague.

I would do Luxembourg sometime near to when you do France (Paris) as it really isn't that far.

Also, when you are in Bern, try to get a train to Interlaken. It is an absolute must see!!!! Reply to this

Thank you guys. i think i will change the route and going from south towards north to be able to swim and ski. great advice, i will explore the area you mentioned with time permission. quite nervous now, with the time approaching. one more question, if i want to watch opera at london, and concert at Viena, what kind of clothes should i bring along because my backpack will be very small. if not neccessary, i don't want to bring too much.
