I'll go to China in August 2008 starting from Xinjiang and trought the countries of Gansu, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Henan until Beijiing. I wanna know if in your opinion the political situation will be good for a travel in those countries of China.
There's also a
travel advisory out because of heightened security, meaning it might be more difficult to move around the country. I think it should be fine, though, but you should consider the "peak" traveling periods of: 1) end of August/early September -- this is when college students head back to school; and 2) the first week of October -- the National Holiday week. It's very difficult to get plane/train/bus tickets during both these periods, so plan ahead and perhaps get them as soon as possible.
