Aura!

Today Ninoska forgot to drop me at the roundabout so i ended up walking double the distance to work...in half the time! haha!!
Not happy though!!
thats God paying me back for being lazy and getting a lift!
And i had ALL my washing with me!! all 5kg of it!!

work was hecktic again for the first few hours then it settled down
one of the nurces told me to go into the back room where she shut the door and produced a steaming pot of chicken and soup and a huge bag of bread!!
Its called Adobo de pollo and its ¡MUY RICO! it was so tasty and lovely
it curbed the midmornign hunger stabs!
it was a bit weird though. all 4 of us used the one spoon to drink the juice, we were all dipping the bread with our hands and im sure it wasnt very clean
i have to be honest and say i really didnt care because it was so good!!
also im not sure any of us had washed our hands!! dirty!!
oh well im in peru!! lol im sure the pills im on will kill anything thats i could get :S

it was really nice to chill and chat and they really make me feel at home
i love it
they made the effort to learn my name and are really friendly and inclusive
they have this game where they name peruvian dishes and see if ive tried them
trouble is i dont remember food names well!!

after work got taxi direct to plaza de armas and dropped off my laundry
had an hour to kill so decided to have a bit of exercise and mision it up the hill to san blas then shop the way down
however once i got to the top i decided to have a wander and i found a little jewelery shop
it looked interesting so i decided to go inside
trouble was when i tried the door it wouldnt open
a couple that had just come out joked something about my aura not being good
i was pretty annoyed and felt pretty stupid but i kept trying and eventually this guy opened the door

i was looking around at the shop which was full or peruvian picasso and beautiful jewelry all handpainted and very hippy
we started talking baout things and he said my aura was green and orange and it should be yellow and he took my hand and told me all these strangely truthfull things about my life! im skeptical but open minded and 100% control freak...weird lol
it was bizarre!
we talked for an hour and we talked about stuff and i vowed to go back! i love the jewelry and he is such good comapny!
he showed me a necklace that would help me with the over absorbtion of energy i have in my neck area but it was waaaaay too expensive
so beautiful though, a red opal
it was odd, he said i could pay half now and half when i was cured.
was tempted to take him up on it then realised it was still expensive!
i did love it though...tempting tempting!!
apparently the shops famous and he seemed supprised when i said id wandered around and stumbled upon it
he even showed me an article in some guide book
i settled on some butterfly earings, theyr so beautiful
we talked more in half english half spanish
then just as i was leaving he gave me a big hug!!
it was just what i needed
i hadnt had a hug the whole time ive been here
almost cried!
how sad
i left the shop and practically skipped down the hill the plaza
it was the strangest meeting but i left feeling really elated
it was weird
spooooooookkyy!!

met sara and gave her a big hug...none of the usual silly pretending to be peruvian kissing!
we chatted for a while then decided to try and find somewhere cheap to eat
we found Victor Victoria which was supprisingly non-touristy...infact all peruvian....werid considering its in lonely planet
we both had toasted sarnies and big ones at that, shared a litre of coke and had fries and chips...all for just 28soles...like 4pounds
cheeeeap!!

we walked through the little backstreets back to the plaza and found more lovely little shops and cafes
we found the Templo y Convento de la Merced.
its the most bizarre place ever
its a museum but it looks like a big villa with huge and beautiful paintings around the courtyard
youll have to see the photos to understand fully
its BIZARRE!!
then theres this one little room which has all gold and silver relics from the spanish invasion
theres this one huge statue thing thats considered the lagerst piece of jewely in the world or something and has over 1000 diamonds and pearls including the worlds second largest pearl...in the shape of a mermaid!!
all in a little museum in cusco peru!!
how strange!
it was incredibly beautiful though!

after we went to our favourite ice cream place
on the way a little girl tried to sell us dolls
we said no but asked if she had finger puppets
she shouted across the plaza and a girl of no more than 5 came running and excitedly displayed her finger puppets
we bought 2 each
i got a turtle and a condor and sara got a pig in a tshirt and a seal
so funny
we both got scrummy banana splits at the ice cream place

got home and changed ready to go to Pati´s for another volunteers leaving doo
was sposed to have got a lift with ninoska but she´d left by the time i got home
ended up getting a taxi
it dropped me off in what seemed the middle of no-where
i ended up walking around the whole estate and ringing sara from a pay phone
she said pati was coming to look for me
after she couldnt find me i decided to continue on walking around the estate and to my suprise i found the house!!
there were only 3 other volunteers there besides me and sara
2 americans and a girl fromthe netherlands
didnt really click with them
sara didnt either
we just ate the scrummy apple pie!! fatties we are!!

Hey Lou, sounds like you're making up for when you were poorly...all you do is eat! Don't get too porky or you'll find machu pichu a challenge!! So pleased you have now really settled and aren't homesick any more. Do be wary of men in curio shops who are interested in your aura! And remember you have a bit of travelling to do yet so save your money!! love u lots ma'maxxxxxxxxx ps it's nurses not nurces!!
