Arrived in Puerto Madryn on Christmas Eve which they celebrate more than Christmas Day! We even got a glass of champange on the night bus when it got to midnight on the 23rd. We checked into the Hi Patagonia hostel just in time for breakfast. As there was four of us (met a girl called Jackie from the States at the bus station) we decided to hire a car for the day and drove to Punta Tombo to see the penguins which was cool. On the way back we stopped off at a little Welsh village called Gaiman for an ice cream. Got back to the hostel just in time for our Christmas Eve BBQ. Gaston, he owner threw one hell of a party! BBQ was amazing, free champange all night, we all got little Christmas presents in our dorms, after midnight we all stood outside the hostel, drank champange and watched the fireworks. At about 2.00am Gaston took us to club where we partied till sunrise. The guy was an absolute legend - he would come and meet us on the beach for a few beers, book tickets and tours for us and even drive us around. This guy has

Puerto Madryn is also where you can arrange Whale watching tours. We got picked up and was driven 2 hours up the coast where we got on a boat to go Whale watching. December is actually end of season, but we were lucky to see a couple.
As Boucs and I decided our next stop will be Ushuaia, we said our goodbyes to Tas as he got on his bus to Buenos Aires.
